David Martin

Irish Tenor David Thomas Martin, is described as having a wonderful lyric tenor voice. With Bel Canto quality, he performs with great stamina and agility while delighting audiences around the globe.

David studied and performed at the Royal Irish Academy of Music under the world-famous Dr. Veronica Dunne, and at the Leinster College of Music and Drama in Dublin Ireland. He also attended Il Corso Di Canto E Perfezionamento Lirico in Montalto Northern Italy, where he performed and attended several masterclasses.

Throughout his singing career David has performed in varying roles, both in Opera and Musical Theatre, and as a member of The Five Irish Tenors (Columbia Artists Inc.) - he performed during a 48 concert tour of the United States, in the Spring of 2017.

David is a retired Sergeant Investigator (SOCO) in the Military Police Corps, Irish Defence Forces where he on many occasions he performed internationally with the Irish Defence Forces No1 band.

David currently performs in Europe and the United States often for various charity organizations throughout the world, as well as occasional private functions.

The retired Sergeant in the Irish Defence Forces has over the years combined his work with his love of singing, taking on musical projects throughout his military career, with both careers seeing him travel the world.

Now, as always, keen to take up a challenge, after seven years with The Three Tenors Ireland and as a member of The Five Irish Tenors, David is focussing on his solo career.

David’s vocal training began under the tutelage of Geraldine McGee and in the years that followed he successfully competed in various Feis Ceoil. In 1999, having won the Tenor Solo and the Joseph O’Mara Memorial Cup for Operatic Aria in Dublin, he began his studies at the Leinster College of Music and Drama with the late Dr Veronica Dunne in association with Ms. Jeannie Reddin.

David went on to complete Il Corso Di Canto E Perfezionamento Lirico in Montalto Ligure in Northern Italy, led by the world-famous Ugo Benelli, who said ‘David has a remarkable sound and a fantastic vocal range’.

David realises his good fortune. ‘I have had some fantastic opportunities over the years. I have performed at so many momentous occasions and locations, the National Concert Hall Dublin and the Eucharistic Congress in the RDS and Croke Park Dublin being some of my most memorable highlights. I have also travelled and performed internationally with the Irish Defence Forces travelling to Paris, Brussels, Lourdes and Turkey to name just a few.’
